The City

Picturesque center of the Amalfi Coast, of particular beauty, is located in a small cove, between the steep cliffs and the sea, at the mouth of the Dragon Valley.

Formerly, it was the residence of the noblest families of the Republic of Amalfi.

Of particular value, worth visiting is the church of S. Salvatore de' Birecto dating back to the 10th century and renovated in 1810, with bronze doors of considerable value.

Also worth mentioning is the collegiate church of S. Maria Maddalena, dating back to the 13th century.

Its small beach is secluded and protected.

From here, in the evening, the 'lampare' set out for fishing, dotting the sea with a thousand points of light at night.
